Auburn : Maine

Auburn is a city in Androscoggin County, in the Lewiston-Auburn metro area. Located in southwestern Maine, Auburn was named for the Yorkshire village. Auburn is approximately 30 miles southwest of Augusta and 30 miles north of Portland. The climate of Auburn is moderate with cold winters and mild summers. The average annual temperature is 46.0 degrees Fahrenheit and mean precipitation is 45.8 inches. Though the main industry of Auburn in shoe manufacturing, industries like General Electric, the Goodyear Rubber, and the Pioneer Plastics plants also make their presence felt.
